Repair the Future-2020

Pedro and Kim’s Upholstery, 12655 SW 1st St, Beaverton, OR 97005

Muralist Addie Boswell and I organized this project for the July 4th weekend. Repair the Future was inspired by a Claudia Rankine poem titled Weather, a response to the complicated climate in the present-day United States. The background images were painted by local youth to represent the issues that matter most to them. This project was supported by volunteers and local businesses in Beaverton, and was completed in two days, demonstrating the power of collective action and promise of public art.
